Skukuza Restcamp is situated on the southern banks of the Sa

Skukuza Restcamp is situated on the southern banks of the Sabie River in the Kruger National park. Skukuza Camp is well foliaged and activities and facilities are diverse, as are the animals and plants found both within the camp and in the surrounding areas.

Skukuza is the largest restcamp and also the operational and administrative headquarters of the park. The restcamp is situated in the southern part of the park on the bank of the Sabie River.

Historical sites in the camp are the dogs’ cemetery, bell tower, old pontoon bridge, train bridge, Selati Rail Museum and Campbell Hut Museum. The Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Library is open to the public.

During school holidays programmes are presented in the environmental education centre and in the evenings film shows are held in the amphitheatre

Game is abundant in the Skukuza area and drives along any of the surrounding roads are certain to produce sightings of a wide variety of animals and birds.
